Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I ask someone to sponsor me?
A: Simply ask everyone you know—family, friends, people at church, neighbors. You might ask, “I’m walking for an organization I know is making a difference in our community. Will you sponsor me?”
Q: How much can I raise?
A: There’s no limit—you’ll be surprised how easy it is! Nine out of ten people will say YES! The more people you ask, the more help you will be able to provide. When you reach $200 in pledges (this amount is usually reached with about 12 sponsors), you get a free “Walk for Life” t-shirt.
Q: How far do I have to walk?
A: The Walk is not an athletic event. It’s about two miles long, so all ages – from stroller to wheelchair – can participate. Your request is for a single, generous, tax-deductable gift for your participation in the 2-mile event. Sponsorship is not on a per mile basis.

Q: What if I can’t be there that day?
A: No problem! Simply mail your Sponsorship Form to PO Box 8451, Canton OH 44711 as soon as possible, then walk at your convenience in your own neighborhood.
Q: What if it rains?
A: The Walk for Life is a rain-or-shine event, so bring your umbrella and walk.
Q: Do I have to collect the money?
A: Yes and no. You do not have to collect the money—PSC will handle invoicing and the collection of pledges for you. However, if you are able to collect pledges that are $10 or less, this really helps keep our administrative costs down. If a sponsor wishes to give you money, please mark the appropriate box beside the sponsor’s name and turn in all cash and/or checks with your Sponsorship Form.
